In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s easy to see how there’s still so much confusion and misinformation surrounding health information on the internet. From the different symptoms experienced by a diverse cross-section of sufferers, to the conflicting opinions about what painkillers to take to mediate the virus at home, there was plenty of uncertainty as the world learned more about Coronavirus. Yet, thanks to a growing number of organisations and projects around the world who are committed to promoting the facts when it comes to health, the truth is finally being given a platform for good.
In partnership with Shift Design, Rhapsody put together the Healthier Internet experience, which allows users to explore global initiatives who are committed to dispelling incorrect health myths and promoting the cold, hard science - and to learn more about their work. Projects took the form of (among other things) groups campaigning, conducting research and developing partnerships to tackle the spread of problematic health information. The dedication of these initiatives to achieve a common goal was inspiring and Rhapsody was honoured to be able to contribute to the project and flex our philanthropic muscle.
As a result of the scale and scope of the data provided by Shift Design, Rhapsody’s creative team decided to take an infographic-style approach to the design of the experience, first producing a pen and paper wireframe in conversation with the client. Key to the success of the Healthier Internet microsite was the ability to showcase lots of information side by side. With everyone from NGOs to tech companies, universities and governments across the four corners of the globe spearheading valuable projects to ensure that science is heeded, it was up to Rhapsody to add clarity and functionality to the data to make it come alive. By categorising and colour-coding the various groups involved, their individual missions and where they were located, then adding interactivity within our engaging design platform, Rhapsody was able to deliver a user-friendly experience that was just what the doctor ordered.
Utilising our eye for detail and ability to classify information to ensure the Healthier Internet experience was both digestible and engrossing, Rhapsody was able to prove that science really is the best medicine.
